My first Discord impression? Confusion.
When I joined the official Paralives server, I saw a bunch of channels, categories, & notifications. Compared to Reddit, Discord felt overwhelming.
After exploring for a while, I learned how the channels were set up & found differnet channels about game features, suggestions, questions, & updates. People were sharing ideas & talking about what they wanted in future updates.
Reddit still feels more familiar to me, but I understand why people like Discord. Conversations happen in real time, so the community feels livelier & more interactive.
Have you used both Reddit and Discord? Which platform do you think does a better job of building community? Why?
